Life always offers you. . .

Image                                                a second chance. . .it is called tomorrow!  Hello, sweet friends, wishing you a pleasant spring day!  We are receiving refreshing rains here in Central Texas.  I am so thankful for that.  We have had a really dry spell so rains are much needed. . .

The first to help you up. . .

Image    are the ones who know how it feels to fall down. . .Let us be in the business of helping others up!

Time has a wonderful way. . .

Image  of showing us. . .Image  what really matters!Image  I have found this to be so true in my life. . .As I have grown older, I now realize the most important things in life are our family, our home, our friends, our faith.  I am so thankful each day to be able to participate in the joy of living this beautiful life I have been given.  Sometimes it is the “little” things that make our life so meaningful!  One thing I am certain of is that I am a “homebody”.  When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a world traveler.  I now realize that home is my favorite place to be.  My comfortable bed each night, a hot cup of coffee each morning and my little cottage garden make me very happy!   Thinking of you today, dear friends, and praying you are able to enjoy all the things that make our lives so full!

All that I am today, I owe to my mother. . .

Image                                               I am so thankful today for my mother.  I am thankful for her undying commitment to me,  her unconditional love for me, and her very generous spirit.  She always put her family first.  Thank you, momma!  This post is dedicated to her and all mothers everywhere who love their children with everything they have!  Have a blessed, happy Mother’s Day!

If you can be anything. . .

Image   be kind. . .Today will never come again.    Be a blessing.  Image  Be a friend.  Encourage someone.Image  Take time to care.  Let your words heal and not wound.  Dear friends, we have the opportunity each and every day to make a difference in the lives of others.  Hope you  have had a good day  full of opportunities to be a blessing to others.

If the only prayer. . .

Image  I can breathe. . .Image  is “thank you”,Image  that would be enough!  With a very thankful heart today, I am remembering all that I have to be thankful for.  My mother used to sing “Count Your Many Blessings” when she was ironing.  She had the right idea!

I would start barefoot earlier in the spring. . .

I just went for a pedicure yesterday so I am ready for barefoot days ahead.  How about you?  Are you ready for some barefoot days?

Springtime means a time for new beginnings, a time for a fresh start.  I am so thankful that we can always start anew.  Each new day holds a promise for refreshed spirits, new goals, new dreams.  Happy springtime and a blessed Easter to you!

My to-do list for today:

ImageCount my blessings. . .Practice kindness. . .Let go of what I can’t control. . .

ImageImage   Listen to my heart. . .Enjoy the birds’ song. . .Plant some flowers.

ImageImageAnd at the top of my list:  tell the ones who I hold dearest that I love them.  We are not promised tomorrow.  I love and appreciate you my friends and family and hold you dear to my heart.  Enjoy your weekend!

Thoughts of spring. . .

Image    Every year about this time, my mother would bake cupcakes for my class at school.  She would dye the coconut green and put it on top of the cupcakes with jellybean eggs nestled among the coconut.  I was always so proud when my momma brought this treat to me and all of my schoolmates.  When springtime arrives, my thoughts always go back to mother and the love she always imparted to her family!

Image  Many times my cousins would come over to my house after church on Easter Sunday.  Danny, Mary Alice and I would take turns hiding our Easter eggs.  We would hunt them time after time until quite literally our hard-boiled eggs were falling apart.  What fun we had as we looked for our eggs!!Image“I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose, I would always greet it in a garden.”~Ruth StoutImageA springtime bouquet for you, my friends, picked from my cottage garden several years ago.  These are mostly antique and old garden roses, my very favorite.

Beauty. . .

“I don’t think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains.”~Anne Frank

As I sit outside here on my little balcony and watch birds coming to my bird feeder, I feel thankful for all the beauty of the earth when sometimes it would be so easy to see the negative.  Springtime has definitely arrived here in Central Texas.   We had a big thunderstorm yesterday.  We are in need of the rain so no complaints here!  Hope things are going well in your little corner of the world, sweet friends!
